This Cheraw Home: 143 McIver Street
Built around 1790 by General Erasmus Powe, the downstairs was used by Union General W.T. Sherman for his personal headquarters in 1865. The large side wing was once the law office of South Carolina Chief Justice Henry McIver and was moved here from town. (Information provided by the Cheraw Visitors Bureau)
